Our BBC
Tasked with bringing meaning to BBC’s THIS IS OUR BBC platform, we circled on the insight that the BBC is uniquely part of our lives in more nuanced ways than first meets the eye. Beyond simply being great content to watch and listen to, it often performs a more nuanced role for people, such as being a ‘comfort’, a ‘helping hand’, or ‘bringing family together’. We therefore turned the camera around to focus on the humanity in front of the screen, rather than what’s on it. Travelling across the UK, we cast and shot real people in the homes, each showing us their use of the BBC, making little 10 second portraits of Britain in the process. This series of films is likely to become a platform to make more in the future.
